Prayers

“Please” the Christians pray whenever difficulty comes
“Thank God!” they sing when strife has passed and happily bang drums
“Please!” they pray when yet another challenge rears its head
“Thank God!” they roar with glee when blessed with simple days instead

“Please!” they pray when pushed to show great patience, poise and grace
“Thank God!” they shout whenever their kind God allows their case
“Please!” they ask, they beg, beseech, implore, desire and plead
“Thank God!” they praise when “God of Comfort” with them has agreed

As a Warrior, I find the act of prayer quite dense
Wishing, hoping, wanting ‘stead of preparing defense
Praying to someone else, even if a deity
Begging for a shortcut, reprieve, relief, levity

I find the act of begging for mercy to be quite weak
I find the Christian ego to have a silly technique
To be oblivious of their own potential for coping
To pass it off to Jesus who must satisfy their hoping

A faith that just depowers people, “Beg the God above!
Only HE can cure your pains with HIS magical love!”
They’re trained from birth to follow the idea that they are sheep
That they have no control and that hardships cause you to weep

They’re taught that they are not enough, that all is owed to God
To Jesus who “Died for our sins,” the “You owe Me” facade
Silliness is what it is, the teaching that all joy
Requires satisfaction of desire; ego’s ploy

Lessons that just cultivate your ego to want more
And those who see through all the lies? “The devil’s word!” they roar
They pray to God of Desires, denounce “Devil of Pain”
Pretend they’re blessed and happy and fake it ‘till they’re insane

They get upset and angry while they claim their faith is strong
They claim their God delivers them from everything that’s wrong
So many empty inside but lack courage to admit
It isn’t working like the pastor promised with his wit

And so they pray and pray for peace of mind and hope God will
Do something about it since the Christian way’s: “Stand still”
“Clasp your hands and say a silent, selfish prayer for ease”
“Pray to God and Jesus that each day will be a breeze”

I am Warrior, I pray to nothing and no one
If there’s a God, then grab a seat and watch, this should be fun
I look to nothing or no one except myself each day
I have the strength to endure because *I* made it that way

I chose to do the work, to sacrifice, to feel the pain
To count to ten and breath slowly while others went insane
I trained and pushed myself to my limit, then raised the bar
I need no God of Mercy for I’m King, Master & Czar

The ones who pray don’t understand, they think it all came easy
They think that confidence is arrogance, it makes them queasy
I don’t play by the rules, “You’re not supposed to be alone!”
Their self-imposed limits on strength and choice just make me groan

Victims every day and night all praying for a break
They’d rather beg and suffer all their lives than be awake
No courage to question what they’ve been taught, what they believe
No courage to look in themselves in order to achieve

“Pray for this” and “pray for that,” a silly wishing game
Seemingly legitimized since it’s wished in “God’s name”
I am Warrior and I no longer wish at all
‘Cause I’ve found much more peace when I run, jump, push, climb or crawl

To Mock A King

11 Feb

To Mock A King

Anyone can mock a man
And yes, most people do
Even without realizing
With their flippant spew

Anyone can mock a leader
Someone who tries hard
But often fails because they are
By their followers marred

Anyone can mock a God
Since most just can’t conceive
A being that’s far greater than
They are, they can’t believe

But there is a rare breed that can
Willingly mock a King
As a servant of one, I can’t
Think a sadder thing

My own King is one who receives
A lot of foolish mocking
I hear His name said as a swear
While I hear people talking

I hear the ignorant make fun
Without giving a thought
Of what this King did sacrifice
And lessons that He taught

They laugh and think this long-haired
Bearded King is so inane
They do not stop to think about
The suffering and pain

They show no thought of the message
Of love that He did guide
They disregard the grace He kept
Moments before He died

It takes a very unique person
To mock this great King
To make dumb jokes, to throw insults
To laugh and insults fling

It takes one that’s oblivious
To sacrificing all
To give everything of yourself to
Answer a higher call

It takes someone who does not see
Does not appreciate
A person who’s mission in life
Was to reduce the hate

Keep this fact in mind next time
You hear these people mock
Don’t just stand by silently
Don’t turn around and walk

Say things as you see them and
Remind them, tell them of
The life and mission of that King
His purpose: spreading love

Tell them that to mock a King
Takes very little class
Tell them when one mocks a King
It’s mocker who’s the ass

Tell them that they mock because
They feel they have low worth
Tell them that we must have something
Sacred on this Earth

To mock another is a sign
Of weakness and of fear
It’s one thing to mock family
A friend or mock a peer

But when one mocks a King I say
There is no greater shame
A revelation that they won’t
Give anyone acclaim

Clean Christians

3 Oct

Here’s a poem about self-righteous and pious “Christians” who make too big stink over swearing, nudity and other “lewdness” and let these inconsequential things blind them from the big picture. I do believe they’ve lost the fuckin’ plot. 😉

Clean Christians

“Please no swearing! No lewdness and please no nudity!”
These taboo topics make so many stuck-up Christians flee
They do refuse to watch movies and TV shows which feature
Any of these “dirty things” because of what their preacher

Told them on a Sunday morn, “These things will lead to Hell!”
“Jesus Christ” is what I think and what I also tell
All these stuck-up “Christians” who see filth and run away
“Jesus Christ, you know the guy to whom you all do pray?

Yes, Jesus Christ, the man who did surround Himself with those
Who did not have the cleanest language or the nicest clothes
His posse was composed of not the cleanest men around
And all those pious, “Holy” places? Christ could not be found

He walked headlong into the places that were not pristine
You think He only spoke to those who kept their language clean?
You think He did refuse to speak to girls who bared their breasts?
I have a feeling that He did not just limit His quests

To places that were prim and proper, “Holy” and reserved”
And that is why these hypocrite “Christians” make us unnerved
They claim to follow in the steps of someone who stood fast
While their King did illuminate, they run away aghast

While their King made an effort to show grace, love, understanding
“Clean Christians” do get appalled and walk away, remanding
With all due respect to them, to HELL with what they think
Fuck their lack of empathy and Kool-Aid that they drink

Fuck their lack of heart and soul that should be showed in each
And every single action that they practice and they preach
Fuck their search for perfection, my Savior has taught me
There’s no such thing, but if you take a closer look, you’ll see

Beauty in the ones who swear, selflessness in those nude
Grace possessed by those unkempt and courage in the lewd
To all the “Christians” who have been mislead to think they follow
A perfect, pious Savior, here’s a filthy pill to swallow

                                                                God bless 😉

Jesus Walked

6 Mar

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” ~Jesus Christ

Jesus Walked

I’ve never been too keen on going
To a single place
Every single week to pray
And worship the Lord’s grace

Churches have just always seemed
A bit monotonous
A bit too easy, too familiar
And too little fuss

I started thinking about how
The Savior didn’t go
To the same building each week
To make His parish grow

Jesus walked and came to those
Who needed strength and hope
Jesus walked to heal the sick
And help downtrodden cope

Jesus walked and didn’t have
A set weekly routine
Jesus walked which kept His legs
As well as His faith lean

Explore, venture, get off the beaten
Path you always travel
Forgo the comfortable paved roads
And set out on the gravel

Walk out of your comfort zone
And change, adapt, discover
Only when you look in new
Places will you uncover

New people, new challenges
New things to overcome
Enliven all those senses which
Have grown tired and numb

Follow in the footsteps of
The Savior and start walking
You weren’t meant to simply sit
And listen to some talking

If you’re blessed with legs then walk
And put your faith in motion
Sitting and listening doesn’t
Take any devotion

Don’t just hark on what Christ said
Take heed of what He did
Jesus never stayed put and
He surely never hid

Think about it next time you
Get in your car and drive
Down to church, just ask yourself
“Is this how people thrive?”

Maybe you’d be better off
To stretch your legs instead
And put to use all the things in
The Bible you have read

“Christians”

10 Feb

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” ~Mahatma Gandhi

“Christians”

Today’s write wages peaceful war
On people that I thought
Were brothers and sisters in Christ
Who the same purpose sought

This message is for “Christians” who
Require set of quotes
Because they miss Christ’s message and
Have anger in their throats

And hearts whenever things go wrong
They vocally shout out
They choose to take things personally
They fight, they hurt, they doubt

They miss Christ’s message of “Let go”
And hold on to their feuds
These “Christians” miss their Savior’s point
And are in angry moods

Even blind men see what the
Word Christian has become
For many it does not inspire
Instead it’s very glum

That is thanks to “Christians” who
Go to church every week
But it’s only in that building
Where Christ they do seek

“Who are you to cast judgement?”
Some “Christians” may accuse
I am a Christian without quotes
Because I always choose

To slice through anger and hatred
Whenever others strike
I love all people, even those
That I don’t really like

I’ve done the work for years and can
Say with full honesty
That when my peace is threatened, I
Choose not to be angry

I do not raise my voice and I
Don’t honk my horn when driving
I’ve understood Christ’s message, that
It’s through peace we are thriving

I say these words not in anger
But in great disappointment
Shame on “Christians” because they
Don’t honor their anointment

Shame on them for besmirching
The name of the Lord’s son
For shame, the “Christians” who are “saved”
But Savior’s teachings shun

We cannot hide our heads in sand
The damage is quite clear
“Christian” is not something that
Most people do revere

Regardless of their faith, it is
A word that many dread
Even followers of Christ
Facepalm and hang their head

It’s in the choices that we make
When things do irritate
You do not get to praise the Lord
And get to be irate

You do not get to be at odds
And avoid all your “foes”
You do not get to say bullshit
Like “It’s them who oppose!”

Or “they are just impossible!”
Or “I won’t speak to them!”
You do not get to follow Christ
And with anger condemn

And that is why this poem here
Will end on these here notes:
If you’re a “Christian” you can still
Remove surrounding quotes

By letting go and following
The word of your great King
You cannot follow Christ and still
To your old anger cling
