About Miro

Ribbons of Angst

The Last Warrior

I am legend, I am myth, I am fable, lore
I’m a relic from a long forgotten civil war
A battle that took place within, a conflict that’s been lost
Forfeited in favor of one with a lower cost
I am last to step forward, be silent, stare in eyes
Instead of take a step backward and emit threatening cries
I am out of place amid the shruggers and aloof
My faith clashes with doubters who demand they see some proof
My nerves of steel and iron will is no longer employed
In this current human design, my mould has been destroyed
In favor of one with great fear, great worry, great desire
The pouring is quite comfortable, they no longer use fire
The liquid is allowed to sit until it “feels like it”
And then it’s carefully eased out the “Normals Starter Kit”
No hammer, no forge, no flame, just ease and joy and fun
And when things go awry, they freeze with fear and shock and stun
I am last to not be shocked, to never be surprised
I am outcast, exile, misunderstood, despised
The thief believes all steal from him, and so too do the weak
Believe all others should hide from challenges with a squeak
I am not a light or beacon, just shameful reminder
That uncovering your inner strength won’t come from being kinder
I am sacrifice and sweat, I am the price too high
I don’t make much sense because I’m not afraid to die
I let go instead of cling, yet passion’s in my veins
No selfish desires, I am last who tries and trains
I’m the last to disagree, to reject what they do
If I search soul for answers and find it to not be true
I don’t smoke and I don’t drink and don’t eat tortured meat
And I don’t care what others do, I don’t try to compete
I am the last Warrior and Earth’s a lonely place
Perhaps the reaper will provide a trip to outer space 😉

Thanks, this is right up my alley. I’m very weary of painkillers and other shortcuts to pain relief. Great suggestion!

Miro, good evening! I’m so happy to have found your website!! I haven’t found anything that I thought is bad! It’s all beautiful, smart, and so much of what you’ve written makes sense in a way that I don’t know why we haven’t thought of it ourselves until reading it. I’ve been sharing these pages with my children, hoping they might read and “listen/learn” as they read!! Thank you for sharing!! I’m truly speechless. I normally can find the right words but I’m in awe with what I’ve read so far. I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow! Soaking in more of your writings. You’re wonderfully talented and I’m truly happy to have stumbled upon your page. Have a blessed life!! 🙂

    • Warrior Poet Wisdom October 12, 2011 at 10:13 am #

Hi Becky, thanks for writing. Glad to hear you’re enjoying and being inspired. If something you read resonates with you, then the passion and wisdom was already within you. Seeing it in someone else’s words merely casts light on ideas, concepts and feelings that we were already aware of but hadn’t taken the time to think about, hence that “why haven’t I thought of that?” feeling. 🙂 The answer is simple: “Because we didn’t take the time.” Glad to hear you’re taking the time now. You’ll be amazed at what you already know and the strength you already possess when you take the time to discover it.

  27. bipolarmuse February 13, 2012 at 12:01 pm #

Miro, this may sound silly, but do I copy the 1-100 award and just add my own words and nomination at the end?? And of coarse thank you for the beautiful nomination… 🙂
I am so honored and grateful and look forward to handing it to another warrior. 🙂
    xo, muse

    • Miro February 13, 2012 at 1:24 pm #

Not silly at all. 🙂 You can do whatever you want. You can copy it all, parts, or make up something yourself about what being a modern warrior means to you. Others have been quoting the Heraclitus quote which nicely explains the name of the award. In the end, it’s not my award anymore. It wasn’t about getting honor back for myself, it was about encouraging others to bestow honor and gratitude onto others. Glad to hear it means so much to you. 🙂
      Peace & grace,

      • bipolarmuse February 14, 2012 at 10:57 am #

Thank you 🙂 You explained it perfectly. ♥

Miro, You have talked about being in pain, from a shoulder injury. I know an Advanced Rolfing Movement Specialist who might be able to help you. Are you in Toronto?

    • Miro July 7, 2012 at 5:13 pm #

Just outside of Toronto. I’ve never heard of Rolfing. Just looked it up on Youtube and it looks interesting. What’s the specialist’s name?

      • You As A Machine September 28, 2012 at 5:27 pm #

        Hi Miro,

Sorry about the long delay. I thought I would get a notification of a reply from you, but didn’t. My curiosity got the better of me so I finally checked the other day.(Please don’t publish this comment).

This is a link to show the contact information for the Toronto Rolfer that I would recommend.

I think she is at a different address now, but her email address is current.
Let me know if you are unable to view the information.

        All the best.

  40. Karen Lynn January 2, 2013 at 3:27 pm #

Hello Miro, not sure now what I put into Google, which brought up your site… lol .. sometimes surfing is like that.

I have quickly gone over some of your writings, and I notice you have a cross on, so I am to think you have a love for the truth? Well so do I !

I’ve been on a quest of my own for the truth, to many answers I couldn’t find within church organizations for over 30 years. So I don’t hold onto any religion as truth, only God’s word. I’m radical in my thinking as you also seem to be.

I love your spiritual style and agree with some of what you’ve written, but there are a few things that don’t line up as a straight double edge sword to his full truth.

I’d love to share with you, if you are interested.

God bless your heart, your thoughts and may your soul be filled with the very best wisdom from on high, so your little place here on the web, may truly point more people to the truth of Christ.

It’s great to be able to read good, modern poetry not done pretentiously. An artform that’s dying out in Australian publishing circles.

    • Miro June 1, 2013 at 10:28 pm #

Thank you, quite a compliment! 🙂

  43. Eric Tonningsen July 14, 2013 at 2:55 pm #
