Desire

Desire

“I could never do that”
I hear so many say
“I’ll never be that good no matter
How often I pray”

That’s the whole problem
You can’t just sit and beg
The almighty creator to just
Move you up a peg

All the men and women
Who rose above the pack
Had one thing in common that they
Used in their attack

Their secret weapon’s called
“Desire” and it drives
Ordinary people to
Extraordinary lives

Desire gets you up
Off your knees and praying
And into the gym where you’ll be
Many dues now paying

Desire sits you down
At your desk and machine
And helps you get all your work done
While TV goes unseen

Desire grabs a book
Filled with much wisdom
Written by wise men who tell
You what you can become

Desire shouts aloud
“You could one day do that!”
But no one ever rose above
If all they did was sat

Desire carries you
Through training every day
It separates the ones who do
From those who only pray
