YOU Are The Problem
YOU Are The Problem
This message goes to anyone
Who struggles with a vice
And thinks that outside factors are
At fault, YOU should think twice
Do not blame your shortcomings
On anything but YOU
It’s time YOU took a moment from
Complaining to review
That YOU’re the one who isn’t trying
Hard enough to make
Your situation any better
And deal with your ache
YOU’re the one who lets others
Get all under your skin
That hands over the power to
Others who deal chagrin
YOU’re the one who isn’t trying
Hard enough to break
Bad habits, to realize
Giving in’s a mistake
YOU can’t blame the weather or
Blame the economy
It doesn’t take a microscope
To be able to see
That most things wrong in your life are
Because of YOU and how
YOU sit and play passenger
And constantly allow
Stressing factors to control
Your mood, your joy, your fear
Take a look in the mirror
And the real problem’s clear:
A person who can take control
But chooses to sit back
And hopes that things will get better
And prays to God for slack
The problem won’t be solved until
The person in the mirror
Leans a little closer and
Sees themselves a bit clearer
Sees the dormant Warrior
That’s sleeping deep inside
Realize the Creator
Already did provide
Everything that YOU need to
Conquer all of your fears
All of your frustrations and
Explore all new frontiers
Awake that fighting spirit deep
Inside YOU and YOU’ll see
The Warrior within YOU will
Proceed to set YOU free
Of all of your temptations and
Your shortcomings, your flaws
YOU’ll find that where before YOU ran
Your Warrior now draws
Strength from situations that
Would usually just drain
Everything’s a challenge to be
Conquered, even pain
Let the spirit of your Warrior
Awake and solve
The root of the problem and all
Your vices will dissolve

Whiner Wayne
Whiner Wayne
There was a boy named Whiner Wayne
Who whined and cried and moaned
When something went
All messed and bent
Young Wayne just sat and moaned
And if by magic all those things
Were suddenly detained
Every trial
Turned to smile
Simply ‘cause Wayne complained
A trouble reared and quickly Wayne
Would whine, “It is not fair!”
And magically
It ceased to be
And stopped causing despair
And there were other troubles too
Which didn’t affect Wayne
He watched on net
And TV set
Other people complain
But nothing that they said or did
Made troubles go away
So Wayne breathed deep
And then did weep
And complained and did say:
“It is not fair! It shouldn’t be!”
And magically it stopped
Those irate
With all their hate
Suddenly did adopt
An understanding attitude
Because Wayne had complained
All was well
‘Cause Wayne did yell
About the things that pained
Then one day Wayne did wake up
And came to realize
That it would seem
Only in dream
Were his complaints and cries
Capable of fixing things
In real world, it helped not
To whine, to cry
To just sob, “Why?”
To be mad and distraught
And so Wayne grew to be a man
And became one of few
Who understood
It did no good
To whine and cry and stew
When others hoped that magic would
Prevent their lives decline
Silent Wayne
Would just refrain
And DO instead of whine

Divine Shortcut
“God is not a cosmic bellboy for whom we can press a button to get things done.” ~Harry Emerson Fosdick
Divine Shortcut
“God will this” and “God will that”
I hear many believers chat
“God will handle everything”
They promise, praise, rejoice and sing
But then reality steps in
And stress and struggle do begin
“Don’t worry, leave it up to God!”
This way of thinking is quite flawed
To pass the buck and sit and wait
And let God deal with all the hate
With challenges that do arise
With grief whenever someone dies
The God-believing Warrior
Does not pass bucks, does not defer
They walk up to and face head on
What most wish God would make be gone
They understand that God is not
A shortcut through dismay and fraught
God gave you all that you need
To pray for anymore is greed
It’s lacking faith within one’s own
Courage and strength, it’s blindness shown
To one’s innate ability
To be of fear and sorrow free
The Warrior’s hands never clasp
And beg God to their troubles grasp
To Warriors, that’s laziness
When God designed us, He did bless
With everything it takes to deal
We’re not supposed to wait and kneel
So get up and do battle now
Sever your stress, through hardships plow
And be assured that God does see
You are what He made you to be
In His image you stand alone
And conquer everything that’s thrown
No shortcuts needed, no reprieve
For Warriors who still believe
The long and hard way is divine
To walk it takes not prayers, just spine

God’s Hands
“The buck stops here.” ~President Harry S. Truman
God’s Hands
I hear a lot of people say
“I’ll leave it in God’s hands”
They pass the buck and hope that He
Deals with our life’s demands
Another trouble comes around
And off it goes to God
Another package sent right up
That’s screwed up, broken, flawed
“What is this? Some turmoil?
God’s hands still have some room
He has plenty of space for all
My misery and doom”
The Warrior’s relationship
With He who did create
Is one that is a bit different
Than sending just their hate
The Warrior is well aware
That there’s a higher power
But they will never pass the buck
Wash hands of it and cower
The Warrior is filled with strength
Because they know their source
They’re forged from something paramount
An immovable force
They are derived from One who can’t
Be controlled or destroyed
And being a supreme power
It never does avoid
Troubles, hardships, struggles, tests
Annoyances and stress
This Creator does not hand off
Instead it does address
And so the Warrior’s inspired
To face those same demands
Bravely by themselves and not
Pass it to their God’s hands
They feel assured to know that their
Creator watches on
But they can handle it themselves
With their own grace and brawn
Never will you hear a Warrior
Pass any buck
“Give me that!” they say and snatch
Grasp, grapple, grip or pluck
Whatever is the task at hand
And clasp it firmly tight
The Warrior knows each conquest
Bring them to a new height
“Don’t worry, I’ve got this one”
The Warrior tells God
You’ve done enough for me, and for
That I greatly applaud
But now it’s time for me to stand
To rise up and to deal
It’s easier to kick ass if
I stand rather than kneel”
