The Den: the largest children’s zone in the Maldives

Inspired by childhood wonder, the Den at Soneva Jani is a two-storey awe-inspiring playground for the imagination – and now one of the largest children’s clubs in Asia. Featuring dedicated toddler and teenage areas, no Young Sonevians have been forgotten in the creation of this all-new technology-free family zone. Glide along the zipline through the cascading waterfalls, make a splash in the pool or explore the pirate ship. Throughout the day, teens can hang out in the Cave Bar, where music and mocktails set the scene.

Inside, the Den is ripe for discovery. Children of all ages can hop along the musical piano steps to create your own music or talk like a fish with Tale of the Whale. A Lego and craft area, dressing-up room and library also provide space for books, fantasies and more.

The Den has been accredited by Worldwide Kids, certifying that Soneva Jani has met the Worldwide Kids safety and training standards.

There’s also a soothing sensory area for toddlers, indoor and outdoor movie nights, fully-equipped kitchen for cooking classes and a weekly programme of complimentary experiences, tailored to Young Sonevians and their families. Upstairs, a dedicated roof deck for teens is complete with a music room, telescope deck, pool and foosball tables, pinball machines and table tennis table set above a reflecting pond.

While parents enjoy some me-time, our experienced childminders are on hand to watch over your children’s every move and ensure they enjoy every moment in a safe and secure environment. While the space and daily programme are designed for children four years and older, children under four are also welcome to join if accompanied by a parent or a babysitter.

At Soneva Jani, babysitting is priced per hour, per babysitter at USD 35++ from 8 am to 11 pm and USD 45++ from 11 pm to 8 am.

Private tuition is available at an additional charge on an hourly basis. Motorised Water Sports Experience the ocean with complete freedom. Gliding, diving, skimming – all of this is possible with a SEABOB. Learn to move through the water like a fish, on the surface and beneath the waves. What happens if you fit a surfboard with a motor? You get an eSurf-board. The eSurf lets you get up to speeds of 56km per hour, making this an exhilarating water sport.
