Ivanišević reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2 in 1994 and won a total of 22 singles and 9 doubles titles. He was also a key part of Croatia’s Davis Cup-winning team in 2005 and secured bronze medals in both singles and doubles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
Following his playing career, Ivanišević became one of the most successful coaches on the ATP Tour. He coached Marin Čilić from 2013 to 2016, leading him to his only Grand Slam title at the 2014 US Open. Since then, he has worked with Novak Djokovic, guiding him to nine Grand Slam titles as of early 2024. In recognition of his contributions to the sport, Ivanišević was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2020.
