The Italian transfer expert, Gianluca Di Marzio, has stated that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is destined to join one of the top five clubs in the world.

The Sky Sport journalist, made some statements on the matter to Geo Team during the evening of the Gran Galà del Calcio in Milan.

According to ilnapolista, the transfer expert stated that “I think Kvaratskhelia is a top player and has had an incredible impact at Napoli and in European football. He is still growing. I don’t agree with those who say that Kvara isn’t playing at his talent level this year.”

The reporter was quick to lay the blame on Napoli as a club who are having a tough year and believes that the Georgian possesses the character to turn it around.

The Napoli winger burst onto the scene last year in his debut season for the team, scoring 14 goals in 43 games as the side from Naples won their first league title since 1990.

However, this season has not been anything like last season for the southern Italian club as they currently sit fifth and eleven points off Inter Milan at the top of the table.

As Di Marzio alluded to, the winger is still in good form despite criticism. According to Sofascore, he has scored four goals in his last five games for club and country. The Georgian was given a score of 8.2, as he netted two goals for his nation against Scotland.

Furthermore, the 22 year old was credited with a 7.4 rating and found the back of the net in a 2-1 win away versus Atalanta.

Kvaratskhelia has been linked with top clubs and specifically Manchester United, many times before. The Peoples Person reported in September that he was admired at United and could be on the list of many Premier League clubs for next season.

Di Marzio builds on this by stating “I don’t know if we’ll see him at Napoli next year, I only know that Kvara’s destiny is to play for one of the top 5 clubs in the world like Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United.”

The winger was also talking at the event and whilst he laid out his loyalty to Napoli, he did not close the door on a future move.

The player claimed, “first of all I can say that at the moment I am 100% focused on Napoli. I’m doing my best to help my team.” He also went on to say, “at the moment I am 100% focused on Napoli. There are important games ahead, it’s an important season. I feel very happy in Naples”.

However, Kvaratskhelia asserted the typical mantra players tend to live by and told reporters, “as for the future, there are many good clubs I would like to play for.”

Worryingly for anyone who wants to see the Georgia international in a Red Devils’ shirt, he declared his love for another big club. “As for Real Madrid, I can say that it was a passion of my childhood”.

With United’s well documented struggle for goals and the strong chance that Jadon Sancho will leave the club, a move for a player of the Napoli winger’s pedigree would unite fans in excitement. However, until the ongoing takeover process is complete, it is difficult to imagine it happening.

Patrice Evra, the former Manchester United left back, was gushing over his former side’s attitude in their 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Wednesday night.

While talking to Amazon Prime Video Sport, the fan favourite also claimed that everybody on the team deserved credit for their effort on the night.

The Frenchman stated, “every player on the pitch today, they were determined. The players who were on the pitch, they killed themselves for the badge and played as a team. Erik ten Hag’s side responded brilliantly from an abject showing last weekend, by beating Chelsea on Wednesday night.

It was a much improved performance which saw the Red Devils create many more chances and the majority of players putting in admirable effort.

This is in stark contrast to what happened at St James’ Park.

Ten Hag seemed to share the sentiment as he told Amazon Prime Video Sport that, “it´s about results but you need a good performance to get the right result”.

Commenting on the game last weekend the Dutchman said, “we’re always talking about Newcastle but we played three games last week, we played two good ones but everyone talks about the bad”.

The manager went on to defend his side by claiming, “this is a good side and a good dressing room”. A recent report by Sky Sports suggested that the manager had lost 50% of the dressing room but this performance will go a long way to dispel such rumours.

The former Ajax coach also discussed the need the team felt to undo the negativity surrounding the club following such an insipid display versus Newcastle. “We wanted to put things right that’s clear. The crowd is always behind us, but we always have to please them”.

The Dutch coach then went on to praise the quality of the Premier League as a whole.

Andre Onana has faced his fair share of criticism from all quarters this season, however the Cameroonian recently showed his charitable side by helping out with the United Foundation.

Onana has had a torrid start to his career in Manchester.

The goalkeeper has conceded 14 goals in the Champions League and 17 in the league. The Old Trafford side have also already racked up ten losses for the season in all competitions. This was brutally seen by the player’s shambolic keeping performance versus Galatasaray when he seemingly gifted Hakim Ziyech two free kick goals.

In fact, The Peoples Person recently reported that no keeper has made more mistakes in the Champions League since 2018, and the club still have at least one more game to play in this year’s edition.

However, if we go back less than a year, the keeper was one of the most highly rated players in the world. After a trophy-laden career in the Netherlands for Ajax, he won the Supercoppa Italiana against rivals AC Milan, and also went on to win the Coppa Italia in the 2022/23 season.

The keeper was also a vital component of the Inter side that pushed Manchester City all the way in the Champions League final, narrowly losing 1-0 to a Rodri goal.

Consequently, the Cameroon international was hand-picked by Erik ten Hag to take over the gloves from the departing David de Gea in the summer. The club paid a huge £43.9m fee to secure his services. So far though, it is safe to say that this has not been seen as money well spent.

Nonetheless, Onana has been kind enough to get involved in the charitable side of the club. According to The Daily Mail, the former Ajax keeper “braved the elements for two hours between 5-7pm on Monday night, surprising local kids when he visited one of the Manchester United Foundation’s community projects, Street Reds”.

Despite being a day off for the players, Onana spent time with 30 children who all live less than a mile from the Old Trafford stadium. The goalkeeper was witnessed encouraging the kids and even gave a special pair of his gloves to one of the children in attendance.

It was reported here yesterday that the Manchester United Foundation has also launched a “warm hub” initiative to give local people a place to go chat and be somewhere warm during the winter months and amid a cost-of-living crisis.

Onana himself has also been heavily involved in charity work during his career. The Cameroonian owns his own organisation called the Andre Onana Foundation. The organisation was created in 2016 and is involved in many projects in Cameroon.

The United number 24 states on his own website that, “I know first-hand what many children in my country are suffering. Inside I feel I must help them to have a better future”.

While Onana may have had somewhat of a nightmarish start to his Manchester United career, and has rightly taken flak for it, the player must also be praised for his charitable work with the club and indeed, for his own foundation.

The youngster won the Bundesliga player of the year last year as Borussia Dortmund came so agonisingly close to winning the league.

Manchester United face stiff competition for two of the French league’s most talented young defenders.

The team from Old Trafford have been regularly linked with defenders since the start of the season. Only Antwerp have conceded more than the 14 goals United have let in, in just five Champions League games this season, as they have been brutally exposed in Europe.

Names such as Jean-Clair Todibo, Goncalo Inacio and Robin Le Normand are three of numerous ones linked to the club in regard to centre backs. The team have also been heavily credited with interest in right backs with Denzel Dumfries and Jeremie Frimpong consistently being mentioned.

Although, it appears the Old Trafford side may be interested in young players to fill said positions. According to teamtalk.com, both Leny Yoro and Tiago Santos have wowed an impressive range of scouts from the Premier League due to their showings in Ligue 1 and the Europa Conference League.

Despite the French team’s inexperience, they are fourth in the league and top of their Conference League group. The team also boasts the second best defensive record in the competition with only 11 goals conceded. This is the second best record in France, alongside Paris Saint-Germain.

However, it is two of Lille’s younger players in particular who are “beginning to attract interest from England’s elite” and scouts are being “driven wild” by the two youngsters. Here is a look at the two players.

Yoro is an 18 year old centre back who has played 12 times in Ligue 1 this season and even represented the French Under 21 side. Tiago Santos

The next young Lille defender to impress Premier League scouts is Santos. The right back is 21 years old and has made 11 starts for the Ligue 1 side this season. Like Yoro, he has also represented his under 21 nation, Portugal.

In a recent interview, Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola said former Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, was the best manager of all time.

The Catalan was talking to Sky Sports, where he was answering a series of questions sent in by viewers.

The former Barcelona boss was asked a series of questions including, who were his favourite British artists and if it were more difficult to win a trophy as a manager or player.

However, whilst admitting the rivalry with Jurgen Klopp was the managerial bout he has enjoyed the most in his career, the Liverpool manager did not make it into his list of the best of all time.

The former Bayern boss also curiously claimed he would love to spend time with Sam Allardyce and Neil Warnock to discuss the “old school” mentality of management where tactics were not so important but where the relationships and vibes were of greater significance.

However, the answer that will interest Manchester United fans arrived at the end of the segment. When asked who do you think is the greatest manager of all time, Pep quickly retorted, “Sir Alex Ferguson”.

Perhaps sensing the unpopularity of his answer with his own set of fans, Guardiola quickly also added Johan Cruyff and Arrigo Sacchi.

He claimed that with all three managers “it isn’t just about the titles but the influence”. The Spaniard added that “they changed generations of manager and players and the way they played were unique”.

As you can imagine, being a Barcelona fan, Pep went into more detail about Cruyff asserting that the Dutchman, “changed two clubs, Ajax and Barcelona” and he gave the Catalan side a direction when they did not really have one in the past.

However, the Sky Sports interviewer sensed his chance of a headline and reaffirmed, “so Sir Alex, number one did you say?”.

The Manchester City boss somewhat guardedly confirmed that “yeah, for the amount of consistency, amount of titles, change, dynamics…”. He was quickly interrupted by the interviewer, who asserted that many people see him in that list of all-time greats.

The three time Champions League winning manager claimed now was not the time to judge and “when I retire, I don’t know where people will put me”.

His answer probably comes as no surprise, as Guardiola has never hidden his admiration for Sir Alex. After matching Ferguson’s achievement in June by winning the treble, the Catalan commented that “it’s an honour for me to be like Sir Alex Ferguson — he sent me a message this morning.”

Famously after Pep won his first Premier League title in 2018, the Scottish manager took him out to dinner to celebrate winning his first title, despite beating the Red Devils to the prize.

Former player turned pundit, Gary Neville, has condemned the style of football currently being played under the management of Erik ten Hag.

Neville was speaking after Manchester United’s drab performance in a 1-0 loss to Newcastle, that truthfully, could have been a lot more had The Magpies taken their chances.

The Peoples Person has already commented on how the former United defender has described himself as “bored” by the current insipid style of play.

According to The Manchester Evening News (MEN), Neville has claimed that out of all the managers to take the helm at Old Trafford since Sir Alex Ferguson, only Louis van Gaal was able “to install a recognised style”.

The Sky Sports pundit’s first critique was over the way Ten Hag’s United react to adversity. He claimed, “the problem is, if you just knock them off track slightly, like Istanbul will have done, and probably won’t qualify for the next round of the Champions League, they don’t react well”.

Neville then went on to query whether the team really deserved to beat Everton 3-0 two weekends ago. The former United captain argued, “you then start to look back at the games when they have won 3-0 and question that. All I would say is, you can play poorly and win, but Manchester United have been doing that now for a long time”.

Even the most optimistic Red Devils fan would find it hard to contest this statement as despite winning five of the last seven league games, few, if any, have been dominating displays by the Mancunian side.

The former England international went on to compare Ten Hag with a fellow Dutchman, Louis van Gaal. The former defender asserted that Van Gaal “dominated football matches at United; there was a style of play. Since Van Gaal, I don’t think I have seen a pattern of play established, and that is probably seven or eight years now”.

However, Neville did add a caveat that he felt the style of football under Van Gaal was boring and not appropriate for the club or the fans. There is a little bit of counter history at work here as the former Barcelona coach was heavily critiqued during his time in England, including by Neville.

The former United number two actually stated in 2019 that Van Gaal had played “the worst style of football” he has ever seen United play.

The pundit also claimed, “no manager has been able to sort of settle on a style of play. It sort of goes something like counter-attack, moments. I have seen the same type of football irrespective of whom the manager is”.

The former full back argued that maybe the team shows it can play against weaker teams at Old Trafford but once they play genuinely top teams, “they get done”.

Finally, Neville asserted that the most damaging aspect of Ten Hag’s, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s and Jose Mourinho’s time in the dugout, is that they have failed to find a way to play despite all spending hundreds of millions of pounds in the transfer window. He compared the United managers unfavourably with other Premier League coaches, who have had much less to spend on recruitment.

“[Roberto] De Zerbi at Brighton and [Ange] Postecoglou at Spurs and others like them have come in and in three or four months, they have got them playing like Real Madrid”.

It is hard to argue with Neville’s logic. In spite of spending vast amounts of money on players, no manager has been able to implement a clear style of football. Many fans would even take issue with the mention of Van Gaal.

The Peoples Person recently warned that unless Ten Hag begins to turn things around quickly, he is flirting with the sack due to a number of strange decisions he has been taking of late and the players seemingly letting another manager fall on his sword, while refusing to take responsibility themselves.

Manchester United are opening the doors of Old Trafford to help local people who face difficult times in the winter months ahead.

There has not been much to shout about recently at Old Trafford with poor performances such as the 1-0 loss against Newcastle on Saturday night and Andre Onana’s chaotic goalkeeping versus Galatasaray.

The endless takeover saga has also left many United fans feeling exasperated by their club. Never mind embarrassing stories like the club facing legal action due to allegedly serving raw chicken at a hospitality event.

Therefore, it is refreshingly pleasant to report on something praiseworthy that the Old Trafford side is involved in at the moment.

The official club website has announced that “through the club’s winter campaign – ‘tis the season to be United – everyone at Manchester United is committed to having a positive impact on the lives of those in need and as temperatures fall and heating bills rise”.

The club’s restaurant, the Red Cafe, will provide “a space to stay warm, chat, have a hot drink and some snacks”. All free of charge of course. The area will be available every Monday in December and January from 17.00 to 20.00 GMT.

The club not only want the initiative to be warm in terms of temperature but also in sentiment as they want people who may be feeling lonely or worried over the festive period to feel comfortable and safe at the events.

The Manchester United Foundation is also aiming to provide support for children and young people amidst the cost-of-living crisis. Consequently, “the Foundation has invested £100,000 in over 22,000 warm clothing items for every young person across its 77 partner schools, in Greater Manchester and beyond”.

Donations from fans, club staff and male and female club players led to over 2,000 coats being received and have been distributed to local families in need, as well as those in Ukraine.

In addition, over 200 shoeboxes have been sent in by the Foundation’s staff and will be handed out to children as Christmas presents.

Collette Roche, Chief Operating Officer at Manchester United and Chair of the Manchester United Foundation said: “We want people who are struggling to know that they are not alone, particularly in our local community”.

She went on to say, “sadly, we also know many of our young people will be facing challenges” over the winter months and hopefully the Foundation’s work “will bring some joy and support to those in need”.

The club has always seen a charity as an important duty and despite the array of problems on and off the pitch, it is with great credit that Manchester United are giving back to those in need over the festive period.
